Decoding Tendonitis

There are many possible causes of pain around the joints, one of which being tendonitis. Tendons are part of your musculoskeletal system and are fibrous bands of tissue that connect your muscles to your bones. The term "-itis" means inflammation so tendonitis would refer to inflammation of your tendons. While you have tendons all over your body connect bodies of muscle to your bones, tendonitis often occurs at high use joints such as elbows, shoulders, and knees.

What might cause your tendons to be inflamed? The most common cause is repetitive motions that cause extended or overuses of that tendon. Sports or job-related activities can contribute to tendonitis especially if wrong technique or form is used during physical activity. Acute injury can also cause inflammation in that area.

Tendonitis is usually a dull pain that is felt around the joint that is affect. Swelling can also be observed. If you feel like this describes symptoms you might be having, it's wise to consult your general practitioner. While many cases of tendonitis can be cured with resting the joint, some can become chronic in which case stem cell therapy might be an option for you. If you are having persistent discomfort or pain, the answer to healing your own body might be using your own body. By harvesting your own stem cells and injecting them at the affected site, our medical professionals at Florida Stem Cell help your body heal itself from the inside in!
